Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The Nordstrom Anniversary #nsale has officially begun! This sale is unique because it includes brand new items (AKA a lot of things for Fall). I highly recommend getting your 'staple' items during this time. It's an awesome time to buy your jacket for fall, some boots/booties, and jeans. It's also a great time to pull the trigger on any splurge items that you've been eyeing since some items that don't typically go on sale will be marked down. I also like to hit up the beauty products that I've been eyeing, especially the more expensive tools that hardly ever go on sale!

The sale ends for everyone on August 5th.

How to Shop

Since Nordstrom is free shipping and free returns and these items sell out fast, I highly recommend ordering online and then returning whatever you don't want once you receive it. That way, you won't run the risk of them selling out or not carrying items that you want in store. Plus, you won't have to fight the crowds! You can also buy items online and then pick them up in your store if that's your thang. Just click on an image below and it will bring you directly to the item to shop it. Then, just add it to your cart and checkout normally. Just make sure to not let things sit in your cart for a while because these items will sell out fast! I broke everything down by category below so just click on the arrows to scroll through each category.

What's In My Suitcase
Photo by my mom turned client, Rachel Ellentuck Photography

Before I leave for my anniversary trip in Europe, I thought that it would be good to link all of the items that I'm bringing in one place! What I packed isn't necessarily specific to this trip either. This post includes some of my favorite travel items for every trip! I broke it into categories of what I'm wearing (clothing and accessories separately), what's in my beach bag, whats in my toiletry bag, my travel 'must haves,' and Jay's clothing (yes, Mr. Cozy's suitcase items also made the post)!

I always make sure that I go through my toiletries for the trip a few weeks in advance and take inventory of what I have versus what I need so that I have plenty of time to order everything online. I love having mini versions of my favorite products and I found the best place to purchase miniature versions of them over the years. I always keep a toiletry bag packed with all of my items so that I don't have to pack it before I go away each time but for a longer trip like this, I really need to make sure I had enough of each item. I'm also particular about what kind of sunscreen I use (so many kinds make me break out or feel so greasy, etc) so I made sure to stock up on my favorite kinds to bring (all linked under the In my Beach Bag section). I think that this and the 'travel must have' categories are ones that you won't want to miss! Plus, if you see any photos on Instagram you'll be able to find all of the looks (that are still currently for sale) in one place!

Forever 21 Summer Finds

I seriously hate Forever 21's name so much that it deters me from shopping there haha. Well, that and having to shift through 10000 crappy pieces to find a good one. Luckily for you guys, I did all of the digging already and am only presenting the gold. A couple of these dresses I've had since last summer and I wash them all the time (because I wear them so frequently) and they've held up fine (I hang dry them). It's great to have some inexpensive options for summer to add to your wardrobe. I even found a dupe 'save' version of the free people, which maxi dress that I wore in Malibu! There are only 6 items here because I only wanted to show you guys winners!

Wedding Guest Dresses for Summer

Wedding season has officially kicked off. I'm going to my first wedding of the season this upcoming weekend! I rounded up all of my favorite dresses here in case you also have summer weddings or events. All of these dresses are under $300, most of them are much less than $300. I broke it down into two categories, long dresses and cocktail length dresses. As always, hover over an image to see the price and click on the image to shop it.

Blush Clothing

What's the one thing that's made you 'blush' the hardest aka your most embarrassing moment? When I was 22, I fell naked in front of HUNDREDS of people by accident. It's a ridiculous story but needless to say, its hard for me to be embarrassed about much after that haha! I'm not someone who gets embarrassed easily but can definitely get bashful. Remember when you were a preteen and little things would embarrass you? I swear I was more embarrassed by my mom bringing my dog to pick me up from middle school one day (why is that embarrassing besides the fact that it wasn't 'the norm'?!) than I was when I was laying on the ground naked in front of all of those people!

Anyways, in honor of that fun/not so fun little story that made me blush, here are some blush clothing pieces that I'm loving recently. See what I did there?!

MDW Outfits

MDW is right around the corner, which means that summer is coming! Last memorial day weekend I was on my bachelorette party in Martha's Vineyard and this year I will be on one of my best friend's bachelorette parties! We are going to be sharing an anniversary weekend so its only fitting to share a bachelorette party anniversary as well! I feel like its good luck to share those anniversaries with a couple whose relationship I majorly respect and love, right?!

We are going to Malibu and I'm so excited. I've been to the surrounding area but have yet to go to Malibu. It'll be such a fun girl's weekend celebrating the amazing bride. I will obviously do a post once I'm back with 'must dos' in the area. I am also going to visit some friends in LA before/after the bach party, which I'm pumped about.

I've been starting to think about my outfits and make a GP. I thought that you guys may be doing the same so I rounded up all of my favorite items for MDW and other summer weekends to come!

Palm Leaf Print

How much does a palm print bathing suit make you want to lay under a palm tree with a coconut drink in your hand?! What's your favorite season? Mine is summer by far! I LOVE the sunshine and feel like my best self in the warm weather. I live for the beach and feeling the sand between my toes. I have SO many plans this summer and I'm worried about not getting enough of that chill summer feeling. They are fun, happy things for the most part though so I can't complain. I will need some cute bathing suits and dresses for a lot of the plans so I thought that palm print would be a fun way to mix it up. These just scream SUMMER and SUNSHINE, don't they?!

Mother's Day 2018 Gift Guide

Mother's Day is only a couple of weeks away so it's time to prepare and get the gifts ready! I know that there is no object that I can buy that can repay my mom for all that she has done and continues to do for me but the gesture is always appreciated. She's the first person to give everything and ask for nothing and holidays like this are the perfect times to get her something nice. I also always value a good hand written note in a card, so I linked some of my favorites at the bottom of this post as well. I separated out the items into 2 sections: items under $100 and items over $100.

In celebration of Mother's Day, here are 3 of my (many) favorite things about my mom...

She is infinitely selfless. If I compliment her on a necklace she will literally take it off and hand it to me. She puts all of us before herself without even blinking an eye. I say that she is selfless to a fault but it's such an admirable quality.

She is the definition of maternal warmth. She just has a kind heart and loads of affection. She always makes me feel safe, supported and loved. Every stranger in the grocery store line ends up telling her their life story because she just radiates loving energy.

She is a 'forever student,' who is constantly growing and learning new things. She follows her heart and is a jack of many trades. In fact, she was a Social Worker for years, an interior designer and is now a talented photographer and the woman behind most of the images that I'm in. Check out some of her work here

Sephora Spring Sale

Guys....the Sephora Spring sale is here!!! It's one of my favorite sales of the year and I like to load up on all of my favorite beauty products while I can get a good deal. You can get 10-15% off, depending on your Sephora status. VIB members get 15% off with code YAYVIB and Rogue members get 15% off with code YAYROGUE. Beauty Insider Members get 10% off with code YAYINSIDER.

I love skincare and am passionate about it. We only get one face for the rest of our lives so I'm trying to be better about taking care of mine NOW! These are my tried and true FAVORITES, many of which you may have seen me rave about (Kiehls daytime oil and night time oil, along with the Sunday Riley Toner are ones I've talked about in my stories a few times)! I loaded up on a bunch of these sunscreen products in anticipation of the sunshine that's supposedly coming our way while they were on sale because they are AWESOME! The Supergood products, like this one, are AWESOME and don't leave your greasy and gross (the oil is the only oily one) and are natural. This setting mist saved the day every time I was wearing makeup last summer but needed a refresh with my SPF.

I also linked all of my favorite makeup products that I wouldn't survive without some of these! I especially have been loving my Tarte products (I've always been a huge fan of the lipsticks but have recently branched out and am obsessed with the powder and liquid foundations too). If you're looking for some new hair products, those are also linked at the bottom of this post! My favorite is the dryspun finish spray because it gives you volume (which I always desperately need) and finishes off your hair but doesn't make it hard like hairspray would.

Straw Bags

I can't get enough of the straw bag trend! I LOVE them for the Spring and Summer and think they are especially perfect any time I'm near a beach. I'm not one to spend a ton of money on handbags. I think that these are SO fun and they're perfect to take from day to night in most occasions. I packed my straw clutch for every trip last year because it's so lightweight and perfect for travel. Plus, who doesn't love a straw beach bag?! These totes are perfect to take as your carry on for travel and then turn into your beach bag on vacation.

Shopbop Sale April, 2018

Shopbop is having another one of it's epic sales! The plus side is you can get items on sale that hardly ever get marked down. The downside is there are soooo many items to sort through. I did the sorting for you and linked my favorite items from the sale below! Some of these are my go-tos (like my favorite white tee) and some are on my wish list. Use the code EVENT18 for 20% off orders under $500 and 25% off orders over $500.

Bridal Shower Dresses

I went to my friend's bridal shower on Saturday and it got me thinking about great dresses for bridal showers. I'm thinking that the weather will get warmer some time soon (it has to, right?!) so I pulled together some perfect dresses for Spring and Summer showers! These are also great for any Spring or Summer party or dinner of course. I love wearing something girly for a shower though. The dress that I'm wearing in these photos runs true to size but I would size up one size if you have big boobs are are tall. I wear a 34C or 36B bra and am 5'4" and got a size 2 for reference. It's only $29, which is crazy!
